Call The Shot – Week 20

Large: A Sinar F and 135mm/5.6 now sits on a tripod in my room. For those not familiar with what they are, they’re large format (4×5) cameras. Pretty much my dream camera and I don’t have any film for it. So the call for this week (“Positively Negative”) is a paper negative I shot with it. Cutting a piece of 5×7 photo paper down to 4×5 and exposing it in the film back results in a negative on a piece of photo paper, which you can either enlarge (and see paper grain) or contact print onto another piece of photo paper. I scanned and inverted in photoshop, but...

Call The Shot – Week 19

Big: http://www.flickr.com/photos/connorroelke/3599198049/sizes/o/ The call for this week was “Compressed Time.” That blown out strip is the moon reflecting on the water. One hour exposure on Ilford Hp5+ with the Hasselblad. The call for next week is “Positively negative.” Also, I finally managed to track down that roll from Easter, so expect that VERY...

Call The Shot – Week 18

I’m not sure why I’m so busy. This is how it always works: I’ll have no time on Sunday to put the shot up and call the next one. It will get moved to Monday. Sometimes I can get it up that day, but other times I’ll be equally as busy. So it moves to Wednesday. And by the time it’s there, I can push it off at least another day because it’s always so late anyway. So I’m sorry. Bigger: http://www.flickr.com/photos/connorroelke/3513016241/sizes/l/ Legitimate darkroom print will replace this soon. The call for this week was “Bliss.” It’s hard to...

Call The Shot – Week 16

It was clear from the beginning of this project that the main problem was going to be commitment. Not on my part, but on other people. I hate to point fingers, but the fact that this image is this bad is not my fault. And I’m going to leave it at that. Because I get to make the rules, there will be two pictures this week. One very poor picture I shot because of a lack of time. I’m not going to elaborate past that. The second is another only slightly better picture shot not during the time frame of this weeks call. Lame, I know. But things happen. Unfortunately, the film isn’t back...

Call The Shot – Week 15

Film’s at the lab and should be in my hands before Sunday. Until then, you can look at my (very good) photoshop version of the photo. I’ll make an extra blog post to make up for the wait. Call for this week is “Ten Thousand in Minutes!” UPDATE: Film is finally back! Large:...
